The Accreditation Commission of the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA)
reviewed the CIDA visiting team’s report, based upon their October 18-21, 2013, site visit in Athens, Ohio, concerning the Ohio University Interior Architecture program at their March 28- 29, 2014 meeting and voted to grant full accreditation. The term of accreditation is six years.
The Ohio University Interior Architecture program is a four year, BFA degree, professional course of study. Every six years the program voluntarily takes part in an extensive and rigorous review process conducted by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). This review requires the program to submit a thorough self study report and then to assemble and present examples of student work from all components of the curriculum. The presentation of student work requires hundreds of hours of faculty time to create. This past October 18 – 21 the Interior Architecture program went through this review process.
The Ohio University Interior Architecture program (prior to 2001 called Interior Design) has held this discipline specific accreditation for over twenty-five years.
